Decopatching is a brilliant hobby and a great thing to get your children involved with.
You can decopatch pretty much anything and I love love love the finished look.
Any of you thinking what on earth am I talking about and what is decopatch?
Decopatch is a paper craft using a specific type of paper and glues. I guess you could say it is similar to paper mache but a lot more modern and prettier to look at.
You use patterned or plain papers to create a collage effect over any type of object.
I’ve taken to giving bottles and jars a new look but you can buy plain mache shapes and objects to decorate.
Here is a mache heart that I started one evening.
Follow my Decoptaching Tutorial to find out exactly how to begin and see how I decorated a couple of bottles.
Sorry for the lack of posts yesterday but I was enjoying some family time with my younger sister. She is currently studying at Foxes Academy in Minehead, a catering college for 16 – 25 year olds with learning disabilities. We had a great day having lunch, going bowling and playing in the amusements.
Here is a picture of a hand painted sign I made for her. I will be doing some tutorials soon on hand painted signs and hanging hearts. The bottles in the back ground have also been hand decorated using a “decopatch” pattern. There will also be tutorials coming for those too : )
A crisp clean white interior is just stunning and here’s a few of my favorite designs.
I love the bed decorations you get when you stay in a hotel. They are so pretty and actually quite easy and effective. This one is just two twisted towels shaped in to a heart and completed with some flower petals.
